Uppercut is a film editing studio that welcomes storytellers to cut their documentary, fiction-film, and other forms of story-based content
Uppercut wants to give filmmakers all the space and time they need to perfect their films. We understand how important these stories are and don't stop till we nailed it. Let us make sure your film gets cut, ready to be seen and felt.
Feel free to discuss your upcoming film with us, regardless of budget. We've even made one of our edit suites freely accessible to editors working on story-based projects.
Amsterdam based editor Diede van Vree has been working in film since 2011. He previously worked on video installations for museums like Naturalis, Fries Museum, Tropenmuseum. And he has a background as an editor and VFX artist for commercial clients like Heineken, Fanta, Sol, Strongbow, Nada Juice, Desperados.
But lately his thirst for narrative editing got the better of him.
Currently, Diede is involved as advisor and editor on an animation film, an independent fiction film, a few documentaries, and on the hunt for more...
Diede has a (healthy) obsession with music, cutting edge technology, and mountain biking. But above all, loves the process of editing and finding the heart of any film. He believes editing is one of the most direct and powerful ways of shaping a story.
As an editor, Diede likes to participate in the early stages of the project and assist directors in the development of their script as a story advisor.
